Physical Education
Growing Through Movement and Performance
Physical Education builds students’ understanding of health, movement, and performance across the Senior Years. In Year 10 students begin preparing for the demands of senior study, before progressing to more specialised analysis, leadership, and performance in Years 11 and 12.
Senior Preparation (Year 10)
Understanding Performance and Personal Wellbeing
Year 10 Physical Education bridges practical performance with the science of health and movement.
Students analyse sporting strategies, explore biomechanics and investigate factors such as nutrition, energy systems and fitness, developing the knowledge to make informed decisions about their own health, performance and wellbeing. It is a subject modelled on the Senior Pathway (11-12) equivalent, providing learning opportunities and assessment styles in this regard.
Senior Years (Year 11-12)
Leading Through Sport, Health and Human Performance
In Years 11 and 12, Physical Education deepens students' analytical understanding of the optimisation of physical performance.
Designed for students targeting tertiary and vocational pathways in sport and exercise science, high performance athletic coaching, diet and nutrition, and physical education teaching, this subject challenges boys to evaluate complex physical movement and health trends. Through leadership challenges, practical performance analysis, and health investigations, students build the critical thinking, communication, and resilience needed for lifelong success in health and sporting industries.
