Health and Physical Education empowers students to build physical confidence, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and understand the foundations of lifelong health and wellbeing. Through practical participation, fitness development and health education, boys explore movement, performance, relationships and healthy decision-making while developing the resilience, communication and self-awareness needed to thrive in all aspects of life.
Junior School (Year 5-6)
Building Foundations Through Movement, and Wellbeing
Junior School HPE develops fundamental movement skills, confidence and a love of physical activity through a diverse range of sports and activities.
Boys build coordination, teamwork and strategic thinking through experiences including aquatics, athletics, basketball and cricket, while developing positive health habits and strong relationships through integrated wellbeing learning.
Middle Years (Year 7-9)
Developing Performance, Leadership and Health Awareness
Middle Years HPE combines physical performance with an understanding of the science behind movement and wellbeing.
Through tactical gameplay, sports science concepts and activities such as Lifesaving, Ultimate Disc and Gaelic Football, boys develop strategic thinking, resilience and leadership while exploring topics including basic anatomy, diet and nutrition and cardiovascular health.
