Visual Art
Decode Visual Language and Drive Creative Innovation
Visual Art empowers students to explore how images, materials and creative ideas communicate meaning in the modern world. Through studio practice, digital technologies and critical investigation, boys develop their own artistic voice while building technical skill, confidence and creative problem-solving abilities. The subject prepares students for future pathways across design, media, architecture and the creative industries.
Senior Preparation (Year 10)
Exploring Ideas Through Contemporary Art
Year 10 Visual Art introduces students to a range of traditional and contemporary creative practices, from painting and sculpture to digital design and fabrication.
Boys develop technical skills through studio projects, visual journals and creative experimentation while learning to communicate ideas, analyse artistic choices and establish the foundations for senior art studies.
Senior Years (Year 11-12)
Developing Independent Creative Vision
Senior Visual Art encourages students to develop sophisticated, independent bodies of work that explore personal, cultural and contemporary ideas.
Through research, experimentation and studio practice, boys refine their creative processes while producing resolved artworks across a range of media. Students develop the critical thinking and artistic confidence required for future creative pathways.
