Agricultural Science
Growing Innovation through Science and Sustainability
Agricultural Science explores how science, technology and innovation are transforming the future of food and fibre production. Through studying plant and animal systems, sustainability and agribusiness, boys develop an understanding of the challenges facing modern agriculture. The subject combines practical experiences with scientific investigation, preparing students for future pathways in agriculture, environmental science, biotechnology and related industries.
Senior Preparation (Year 10)
Exploring Agriculture Through Science and Practical Skills
Year 10 Agricultural Science introduces students to the foundations of modern agriculture through scientific investigation and hands-on learning.
Boys explore animal production, resource management, and agribusiness/marketing while gaining hands-on experience in livestock handling and crop management. These experiences build the scientific skills and understanding needed for senior agricultural pathways.
Senior Years (Year 11-12)
Improving the Future of Primary Industries
Senior Agricultural Science challenges students to investigate the science, technology and business behind modern agriculture.
Through research, experiments and data analysis, boys explore production systems, sustainability and emerging agricultural technologies. Students develop the skills to evaluate challenges, improve productivity and contribute to the future of food, farming and environmental management.
