Year 12 2023 Results

15 December 2023

I am delighted to update our community with the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) results* of our 2023 Seniors that have been released this afternoon. The Senior Cohort of 2023 should be commended for their academic achievements, and the College is proud of the 98.83% of students who attained their QCE.

I am delighted that this cohort has continued to build on our strong academic performance, achieving the highest results since ATAR calculations began in 2020. The 2023 cohort finished with a median score of 85 and a mean of 83.53. We would like to acknowledge the significant achievements of the 6 students who received an ATAR of 99 or higher, and a further 9 students who received an ATAR of 98 or higher. We send our special congratulations to College Dux, Patrick Kennedy who received a score of 99.6.

Below is a breakdown of ATARs achieved as a percentage of the cohort within the specified range:

21.1% of boys achieved an ATAR above 95
37.8% of boys achieved an ATAR above 90
25.6% of boys achieved an ATAR above 80
23% of boys achieved an ATAR above 70
As well as these strong ATAR results, 115 students were awarded one or more Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications as part of their QCE. Below is a breakdown of those VET qualifications:

32 boys engaged in a School-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SAT)
36 boys achieving Certificate 1
61 boys achieving Certificate 2
53 boys achieving Certificate 3
29 boys completing a Diploma
The College congratulates those graduates who have chosen a vocational pathway including apprenticeships, traineeships and/or employment in 2024.

The 2023 College Dux, Subject Duces and ATAR High Achievers will be acknowledged at the College Assembly on Tuesday 6 February. We wish each of the 2023 Seniors the very best for their immediate futures. Thank you to the Year 12 parents and caregivers for the dedication towards their son’s education. Your guidance and support of these young men is critical to their success. Finally, I wish the entire Nudgee College community well for the future and in particular send my regards to Mr Scott Thomson on his journey as the 26th Principal of this great College. Wishing you and your family the blessings and joy of Christmas and the festive season.
