Skills and Training Workshop Assistant
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Skills and Training Workshop Assistant to join the dedicated team at St Joseph's Nudgee College in Boondall, Queensland. This full-time role supports the Construction and Engineering teachers with workshop and activity setup, stock control, material preparation, maintenance, administration, basic cleaning and housekeeping.
What you'll be doing
- Set up and maintain practical workshops and classrooms prior to demonstration lessons or in preparation for student activities.
- Prepare all materials for curriculum projects (as requested by the Head of Faculty or Subject Coordinators; this may include using drop saws, table saws, cold saws, band saws, router tables and welding equipment).
- Ensure workshop consumables are regularly replenished (including nails, screws, oil, PVA glue, glue rags, paint and sandpaper).
- Maintain a safe working environment appropriate for students (including keeping the workshop floor tidy and sinks clean).

- Skills and experience with the requirements of the role.
- Familiarity with the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, and a commitment to maintaining a healthy and safe workplace.
- Employment is subject to Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian legislation.
