Groundsperson
St Joseph’s Nudgee College is seeking a skilled and passionate sportsfield Groundsperson to join our Property & Services team and take the lead in preparing and maintaining our premium cricket wickets and sports fields. Set within expansive, historic grounds, Nudgee College offers a rewarding opportunity to work with world-class facilities and play a vital role in supporting the sporting life of our students.
The Role
Working closely with the Grounds Manager, you will:
- Prepare and maintain high-quality turf cricket wickets and playing surfaces
- Perform renovation and maintenance tasks including mowing, rolling, aeration, seeding, scarifying, linemarking and irrigation repairs.
- Manage the application of fertilisers, herbicides, and pest control products safely and effectively
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure all fields are safe, well-presented, and event-ready
- Operate state of the art Toro turf management equipment
- Collaborate with the broader Grounds team to uphold the College’s high presentation standards
About You

You bring:
- Proven experience in cricket wicket preparation and turf management
- Certificate III in Horticulture
- Manual driver’s licence and ACDC spray licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or eligibility to obtain one
- A positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills
