St Joseph’s Nudgee College is seeking an experienced Counsellor or Psychologist to join our Student Services counselling team in a fixed term role. Working within our Student Formation team, this role supports both Day and Boarding students, providing professional counselling services and helping guide young men through the challenges of adolescence, wellbeing, and personal development. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to a values-driven College community while supporting students and families during important stages of their educational journey.

The Role

As part of our Student Services team, you will:

  • Provide confidential counselling and support for students and their families across personal, social, emotional and educational needs
  • Support the wellbeing of both Day and Boarding students
  • Provide focused counselling support to Boarding students after school one evening per week
  • Assist the College in matters relating to student welfare, child protection and critical incidents
  • Provide professional advice to College leadership regarding student wellbeing and support needs

About You

You are a compassionate and experienced practitioner who enjoys working with young people and supporting their development. You bring:

  • Qualifications and registration with your relevant professional governing body
  • Experience supporting young people aged 10–18 and their families
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary school team
  • A commitment to student wellbeing and the values of Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition
  • Experience in school counselling or youth-focused settings will be highly regarded.
