A single, consistent and transparent process for every adult engaging with St Joseph’s Nudgee College.
C - Check
Check the Queensland Government Blue Card website and the Nudgee College website to understand your obligations, determine whether your role involves child-related work and confirm whether a Blue Card is required

Nudgee College’s principle is simple:
Thinking about helping out? Apply for a Blue Card and link it to the College — it’s free and ensures every student learns in a safe environment.
L - Link
Link your Blue Card to St Joseph’s Nudgee College (if required) and complete your Eva Check-in pre-registration to create your self-registering identity profile.

No check-in = no access.
S - Safeguard
Safeguard students by meeting behaviour expectations, reporting concerns early and participating in ongoing monitoring, annual declarations, refresher training and compliance reviews.
Identity and access information is handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) and the College’s Privacy Policy.
Eva Check-in from 1 January 2026
To support our child safety obligations, all adults attending Nudgee College will be required to use the Eva Check-in system from 1 January 2026. This includes staff, parents, volunteers, contractors, coaches and visitors.
From January 1st, Eva Check-in kiosks will be available at:
- Main Reception
- Student Office
- Junior School Office
Parents, volunteers and visitors may use the app, QR codes or any kiosk to check in and check out. All options meet our child-safety and access control requirements.
Eva Check-in is a secure system that:
- verifies Blue Cards
- confirms Restricted Person Declarations
- records arrivals and departures
- supports emergency readiness
- provides a consistent access process for all adults
How Eva Check-in works
- Before your first visit:
- Complete Eva pre-registration
- Upload your Blue Card (if required)
- Complete the Restricted Person Declaration (automatically prompted)
- When you arrive:
- Open the app or scan the QR code
- Geofencing confirms you are on campus
- Check in and wear your lanyard/visitor ID
- When you leave:
- Tap “Check out” in the app
- Eva will remind you if you forget
How geofencing works
Eva uses a digital boundary that:
- confirms when you are onsite
- does NOT track movement around campus
- does not record GPS history
- only verifies presence inside the boundary
Eva supports our duty of care and ensures only approved adults are on campus.
Who Needs a Blue Card?

- who needs a Blue Card
- who is exempt
- what counts as child-related work

Parent Volunteer Exemptions
Parent exemptions, conditions and limitations are set entirely by the Queensland Government.

Nudgee may apply additional requirements where this supports a consistent, safe and compliant environment.
Frequency Exemption (<7 days per year)
Requirements for under-18 volunteers are determined by Blue Card Services.
Parents and volunteers must refer to: www.qld.gov.au/bluecard
Nudgee may require a Blue Card even where an exemption exists, depending on role, risk and student exposure.
Under-18 Volunteers
Under-18 requirements (including which roles require a Blue Card) are fully defined by Blue Card Services.
Parents and student volunteers must review the official guidance at: www.qld.gov.au/bluecard
Nudgee College encourages 16-17-year-old student coaches and regular volunteers to obtain a Blue Card as part of our leadership and safeguarding expectations.
Restricted Person and Restricted Employment Declarations
To help keep every student safe, all adults who sign in through Eva are required to complete a short Restricted Person Declaration. This confirms that you are legally allowed to work or volunteer around children.
Eva will automatically prompt you to complete this declaration the first time you sign in.
If in doubt, please complete the declaration.
It is always better to be safe and transparent.
A Blue Card confirms you have been screened.
The declaration confirms your status has not changed.
