As is tradition on the final day of Term 3, today the Year 5 to 10 students took part in the annual Walk to the Philippines.
This fundraising event involves a 12km walk from the College grounds, to the Boondall wetlands and back, to raise money to support schools on the Island of Negros in the Philippines.
Over the years this annual event has enabled the purchase of computers and installation of internet in rebuilt and refurbished classrooms, the employment of teachers, the purchase of books, and farming opportunities for employment. Through their Immersions to the Philippines, students have seen, and will continue to see, how their fundraising efforts have benefitted various Filipino communities.
So far this year’s initiative has raised about $25,000; however people can still donate to this wonderful cause via the College Payment Gateway(external link).
