A raincheck for the annual Nudgee College Cricket Season Launch didn’t stop the crowds from turning up to Ross Oval for the rescheduled event on Friday 9 February to watch the 1st XI take on the Bulls Masters.

Several Old Boys returned to the College as part of the Bull Masters team, including Glen Batticotto (NC 1994-98), Jimmy Maher (NC 1990-91), Mitch Connolly (NC 2015-17), Elton Flatley (NC 1992-95) and Connor Sully (NC 2013-17).

There was also a familiar face in the crowd, with Brisbane Heat player and Old Boy Joe Burns (NC 2002-06) turning up to enjoy the festivities.

Students were entertained with crowd catches, jumping castles and some brilliant on field entertainment, while the parents and supporters enjoyed some Friday afternoon refreshments while taking in the action on this picturesque afternoon.

Bulls Masters opening batsman Glen Batticciotto got the crowd up and about with a blistering century, hitting 10 sixes to all parts of Ross Oval. He even managed to send one through a window at Ryan Hall in what was a high class innings.

The 1st XI did an excellent job in their pursuit of 245, with Mitch Pascoe playing some fine strokes in his 53, but in the end the Bulls Masters emerged victorious on the day.
