The St Joseph's Nudgee College Years 5-7 area is seeking the support of the entire College community as they participate in the Coles and Woolworths docket promotions.

"Carrying on from the success of last year’s involvement in the Coles program, we would once again appreciate your support with these initiatives," said Director of Learning and Teaching (Years 5-9) Ms Britt Gurnett.

"In 2011 we are involved in both the Coles Sports for Schools and the Woolworths Earn and Learn Programs," she said.

Each program involves collecting shopping vouchers and shopping dockets from the stores and redeeming them for educational supplies and sporting equipment.

Coles provide shoppers with one voucher for every $10 spent; one voucher equals one point. At the end of the promotion period, Nudgee College will exchange the vouchers for sporting equipment.

"Much of this equipment will be used in the school’s social justice programs as well as providing some extra sporting equipment for the boys to enjoy at lunch times," Ms Gurnett said.

The Woolworths promotion works the same way except shoppers don't receive vouchers. Instead points are listed on a shopper's docket with the full docket submitted to the school. The Woolworths promotion is for school resources. It is intended that the proceeds of this promotion will be donated to another primary school.

"Everyone can help us make a difference by supporting our wonderful young boys in Years 5–7 who are participating in the current Coles and Woolworths docket promotions," said Principal Mr Daryl Hanly.

"We have pledged our whole school community support to these young gentlemen who will donate the rewards from one of these promotions to a local school. Coles vouchers and Woolworths shopping dockets can be left in the collection boxes placed in the O’Neill Foyer," he said.
