Rickard won Silver over the weekend as part of the Australian 4x100m medley relay team along with Andrew Lauterstein, Eamon Sullivan and Hayden Stoeckel.

Rickard previously won Silver in the men's 200m breaststroke final last week. He also broke the Australian record, clocking at 2:08.88.

"I couldn't have taken another stroke,'' Rickard said.

"My heart was in my mouth. To see second next to my name was fantastic. I'm just so happy."

Rickard was also the first Australian to break the one minute barrier for the 100m breaststroke, posting a time of 59.65 seconds in his semi-final.

He broke the one minute barrier again during the 100m breaststroke final, posting 59.74 seconds and finishing fifth place.

Rickard was an Nudgee Prefect between 1996-2000 and the Vice Captain of Nudgee's GPS Swimming Team, which won the 77th GPS Championship in 2000.

He also won the individual 100m Open Breaststroke title during the Championship, posting 1:07.21.

Brenton has maintained his passion for swimming since leaving Nudgee, narrowly missing Olympic selection in 2004.
