Nudgee's newest Wallaby?
September 10, 2008
Nudgee Old Boy Richard Brown is set to become the College's newest Wallaby after being selected in the Australian team for this weekend's Bledisloe Cup.

Richard, an Old Boy from 2001, joins fellow Old Boys Rocky Elsom and Hugh McMeniman in the team after being selected on the bench for Saturday night's Suncorp Stadium clash with New Zealand. If he takes the field he will be Nudgee's newest Wallaby.
Originally from Julia Creek in North Qld, Richard came to Nudgee College as a boarder in 1997 (Year 8).
As a talented blindside flanker, he was a member of the First XV in his senior year (2001) and voted Player's Player by his peers. His fellow Wallaby team mate Hugh McMeniman was also a member of the First XV that year.
"Richard was a great line out jumper and was tough as nails," Director of Activities Peter Todd said.
"He joined the Western Force from the Qld Reds in their inaugural year and has played extremely well for them."
"We are all very excited for him and we look forward to hopefully watching him take the field on Saturday night."
Also taking the field in Australian colours on Saturday night will be current students Nicky Price, Dom Shipperley and Stephano Hunt.
They have been selected in the Australian Schools team who will play against the Fiji U18 team as a curtain raiser to the main game.
Nicky and Dom will play on the wings while Stephano has been named as a reserve after his efforts in the Australian Schools A win over the Fiji U18 team at Knox Grammar in Sydney last Saturday.
Australia won the match 30-7 to hand Fiji their first defeat of their Australian Tour.
