Bringing the Bible to life

St Joseph’s Nudgee College Year 7 students put their theory into practice recently when they performed stories from the Bible.
Year 7 teacher Mr Michael Flynn reports on the performances.
Year 7 students have been working on performances of some Bible stories as part of their Religion studies topic Narratives and Parables in the Bible. The culminating activity for the unit was a 3-5 minute play.
The students performed David and Goliath, Samson and Delilah, Adam and Eve, The Life of Jesus, and The Stations of the Cross. Students were allowed to put a modern twist on the story so Goliath was ‘taller than an NBA player’.
The groups also had to present a brief talk outlining the moral of the story and describe the lessons being taught through Bible stories.
