Nudgee Old Boy and Archbishop of Brisbane John Bathersby conducted the Liturgy of the Eucharist with College Chaplain Fr John Kilinko at Nudgee's Senior Investiture.

Archbishop Bathersby spoke of transcendence in God and how it is the very stuff of religion and faith.

"[Trancendence is] the very stuff of the reality that Christ identified when he came to live among us," Archbishop Bathersby said.

"Trancendence also fills the very gospels we read or listen to. It was there when Jesus said that the long-awaited kingdom of God had arrived in himself when he claimed equality with God.

"[Jesus] goes on to say that God now lives among us in himself in acts of love, forgiveness, kindness, care, social justice... if we open our eyes we can see that presence, that the kingdom will reach completion in God's own time, and if we can contribute to it by those same acts of love, kindness, compassion and at the moment even apology."

Members of Nudgee's College Leadership Team, House Deans and Christian Brothers distributed badges and congratulated our 269 new Senior Year 12 students.

Principal Daryl Hanly said the day was a special day for Nudgee College.

"We are unique and we are different. And it is that difference which is the quintessence of who we are," Mr Hanly said.

Mr Hanly said we have a very clear direction through our College Mission statement, especially the first sentence: "We are members of the Nudgee College Family, founded by the Christian Brothers to provide a balanced education for the development of the whole person."

He said our Family had especially grown this year with the inclusion of Years 5, 6 and 7 students, their parents and their families.
