Thirteen music students from Nudgee College are set to travel over 2500 kms on their 2007 Road Trip. Travelling via Roma, Blackall, Longreach, Emerald and Biloela, the Year 11 and 12 students will perform at various venues.

"Nine of the 11 venues the boys perform at are schools," said Nudgee's Head of Music, Mr Bradley Voltz. "Visiting Distance Ed in Longreach will be a treat, as the boys will have their music broadcast to places we couldn't hope to reach here in Brisbane."

Schools included in the tour are:

  • St John's School, Roma
  • Roma State College Middle Campus
  • St Joseph's Catholic School, Blackall
  • Longreach School of Distance Education
  • Longreach State School
  • St Patrick's School, Emerald
  • Emerald State High School
  • Emerald North State College
  • St Joseph's School, Biloela
  • Biloela State School

The final performance is at Biloela Shoppingworld.

Students are members of the College Rock Bands One and Two. Drums, guitars, bass guitars and vocals feature in the line up.

"We also hope to catch up with many past families and Old Boys on this trip," said Mr Voltz.  "Completing a road trip to Central and Western Queensland takes the Nudgee boys back to the origins of the school," he said.
