What do streetwear labels Trash-Tusa and BamBam, accessory retailer, Seriously Pink and high end opal jewellery store, Depazzi have in common? They are all on displaying at the fashion parade, at Allegria Arts Festival on Saturday May 26th, 2007.

Bruce Tully is the man behind Depazzi. With a background which includes a family opal mine in Quilpie, Bruce studied jewellery design in Florence, creating an exuberant line of jewellery and accessories that is uniquely indigenous to Australia.

Setting out to do for opals what Paspaley has done for pearls, a signature Depazzi style features wild animal leathers such as crocodile, together with illustrious pearls, coral, woven cotton, and most notably, Australia's national stone, the opal.

Fashion label Trash-Tusa, founded by brothers Travers Chue, Ashlon Chue and Andrew Michael, already feature in 15 stores throughout Queensland, and is expanding to Sydney, Melbourne and overseas.

"We design and develop clothing which reflects European fashion, yet portrays a laid back, relaxed Pacific summer feel," said Travers. "The look is colourful, creating new trends and reflecting lifestyle," he said.

BamBam, also owned by brothers Chris Pretsel and Michael Pretsel relies on individuality and vision. With an unmistakable, unconventional approach to semi-luxurious street style, their t-shirt designs appear in film clips and magazines on a regular basis, as well as on the backs of Brisbanites at popular venues.

Tim Dening is behind Seriously Pink's Brisbane store, which sells unique, one-off pieces with total glamour. Stocking everything from handbags to delicate necklaces, earrings, bracelets and brooches, right through to an exclusive range of designer boots, ranges are the latest from overseas.

These past students of Nudgee College are lending support for Allegria, the annual platform for the arts on the Brisbane's northside. Held at Nudgee College on Sandgate Road, the fashion parades feature at 12 noon and 5pm. Other fashion houses include Studio 186, Events Chermside and Lorna Jane.

Allegria opens at 11am and includes grape stomping competitions, a Battle of the Bands, hip hop dance displays, circus acts, roving entertainment in the form of juggling, stilt walking, unicycling and more, an art exhibition with opportunity to purchase, market stalls and rides. The event closes at 8pm and entry fee is $5, with those under 12 years, free.
