Delight for fashionistas at festival
May 16, 2008
Those interested in fashion will be in their element at the Nudgee Festival on May 31, 2008 with three parades highlighting some of Brisbane's best fashion.

Streetwear label BamBam, accessory retailer Seriously Pink, high end opal jewellery store Depazzi and men's fashion retailer Studio 196 headline the list of fashion partners that will leave fashionistas drooling.
Other partners include Events, Gloss Boutique, Pink Mint, Blue Water Surf, Portmans and Cloe Heart.
Besides being owners of some of the most recognisable labels in fashion, brothers Chris and Michael Pretsel (BamBam) and Bruce Tully (Depazzi) are also Nudgee Old Boys. Seriously Pink's owners, the Dening family, also have a strong Nudgee association with the three boys Wes, Drew and Tim, attending the College.
Depazzi's background stretches back over 100 years to when the families of business partners Bruce Tully and James Evert were amongst the earliest pioneers of opal mining back in the late 1800s. Bruce studied jewellery design in Florence where he learnt to create an exuberant line of jewellery and accessories uniquely indigenous to Australia.
The primary materials incorporated in designs are Opal, Crocodile Leather, South Sea Pearls and Precious Metals.
Studio 196 is the premier men's fashion retailer at Westfield Chermside and can provide an outfit for any occasion.
Labels such as Hugo Boss, Ben Sherman, Dom Bagnato and Lacoste feature in the high fashion section, while Studio Italia, Cambridge and Rembrandt provide a large selection of suiting and casual wear.
Studio 196 also carries an amazing collection of men's fashion shoes.
Accessory retailer Seriously Pink specialises in the colour Pink and is for women who are serious about their accessories (and the colour Pink). The Seriously Pink range consists of bags you won't see anywhere else, shoes, jewellery, watches, wallets, tops, skirts, dresses, scarves, sarongs, wraps, belts, sunglasses, umbrellas, display dolls and jewellery cases. Although the majority of their range is Pink, they do carry other colours.
Their products are constantly changing with new ranges to meet the ever changing trends and consumer demands.
BamBam owners Chris and Michael Pretsel describe their style as "unconventional luxury". They say it is important to believe in your work no matter how different it is to the status quo.
This belief has led to their t-shirt designs appearing in film clips and magazines on a regular basis. The company has recently invested in a state of the art printer which will allow them to digitally print designs onto fabric.
Parade times are 11:30, 2:30 and 5:30.
