St Joseph’s Nudgee College will welcome previous College family the da Lozzo’s as feature artists at the annual DimensionsNC Art Festival in August.

The da Lozzo family - Louis, Lucette and daughter Judy - offer art lovers a unique viewing experience with their combination of contemporary Australian landscape (Louis), romantic impressionist street scapes and stylised portraits (Lucette), and evocative still life paintings and drawings (Judy).

Louis exhibited in one of the original Nudgee College Art shows, and it is a privilege to have the family back at the College.

“I recall driving down Sandgate Road when I hadn’t long been in Australia and seeing Nudgee College for the first time and saying to myself – my son will go there – and he did. Sabastian happily boarded at Nudgee College for five years from 1981–1985. The whole family has wonderful memory of the College and its games,” Louis said.

The da Lozzo’s have just returned from a month in Paris where they spent time soaking up the cities atmosphere and cultural traditions.

“We had a whirlwind month in Paris and are now ready to start painting for our next exhibition. Capturing inspiration from every corner of Paris and the Mediterranean coast of the south of France was truly magical,” said Lucette and Judy.

DimensionsNC is a fundraising initiative of the Nudgee College Cultural Events Committee and is about celebrating creative excellence.

The Annual Art Awards provide a platform for emerging Brisbane artists and extraordinary Art students to exhibit alongside acclaimed professionals and invited featured artists.

The Opening Night Celebration Gala on Saturday August 13 at 7pm is a must for all who love good music, food, drink and the arts. To download a ticket booking form click here. A special early bird price of $75 is available for all tickets purchased prior to July 7, 2011. All ticket orders must be received by Friday July 29.

The Art Exhibition runs from Sunday 14 August – Tuesday 16 August, with artists of all ages and backgrounds on show across a range of genres including 2D, 3D, Photography/Digital Art and Indigenous Australian Art.
