Nudgee College introduced volleyball as an unofficial GPS sport in 1991 in the McKennariey Centre fielding three age groups.
Volleyball became an official GPS sport in 1994 and Nudgee College fielded teams in all age groups. In 2000 Mr Joseph Friedmann, Master in Charge of volleyball, fielded ten teams in all age groups. In 2002 the 1st VI won an Undefeated GPS Premiership.
In 2003 Volleyball Coordinator James Noble, started the Melbourne Tour for the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup (AVSC) taking a group of talented young men to Melbourne to further enhance there skills and game play techniques. In 2005 the Melbourne Tour also included a team of Year 9 men showing the growth of volleyball at Nudgee College. In 2006 Nudgee College showed further expansion of volleyball, taking three teams to Melbourne for the AVSC.
