Swimming
Nudgee College is very proud of its recent swimming history, winning its latest GPS Championships in 2006, 2009 and 2010 and being victorious at GPS level for twelve consecutive years from 1992 to 2003.
In 2003 Nudgee College welcomed Mr Matthew Brown as Head Coach. Matthew traveled to the 2008 Beijing Olympics as a Coach of Australia’s Swim Team.
The College’s most successful swimming Old Boys are:
- Leith Brodie (2008 Beijing Olympics)
- Shane Kennedy (1996 - Captain of the Australian Youth Swim Team and 1998 - Australian Open Team)
- Josh Santacaterina (2000 - Open water swimmer competing at World Championships in Hawaii)
- Nathan Rickard (1997 - World University Games 50m Freestyle Champion and 1998 - Commonwealth Games and World Championships)
- Brenton Rickard (2002 - Breastroke, World Short Course Championship, Moscow; 2008 Beijing Olympics dual silver medalist; World record holder)
