Cross Country as a sport before 1971, the year it was introduced as a GPS sport, was hardly recognized or reported on and was mainly seen as an activity to condition boys for the rugby union season.

Nudgee College's success in cross country has been mixed over the last 39 years of GPS competition. The 2005 cross country team won the Jack Ross Trophy, the second time in the College’s history that it has done so.

Individual GPS Championship winners at the College include:

  • Chase Richardson, Under 14s - 1998
