Br O.P. Tierney (1887–1945) enjoyed over 30 years at Nudgee College. Well recognised for his excellent teaching skills, Br Tierney was Senior Science Master, Deputy Principal of the College from 1915 to 1939, and Principal from 1940 to 1945. Br Tierney is remembered particularly for the outstanding way he led the College during the war years.
