Terry McKenna (1920–1942) was an outstanding student at Nudgee College, arriving from Port Moresby in 1933. During his eight years at the College, Terry played the 1st IV for Tennis (1937–1940). In his final year, Terry McKenna was College Captain and Collins Cup winner, Captain of the 1st IV and College Tennis Champion, Captain of the 1st XI and Captain of the 1st XV (Premiers). In 1941, Terry joined the Air Force in which he had a distinguished career.

Terry was awarded the Aircrew Europe Star, the Defence Medal and War Medal, during his time of service. On 20th June 1942, Terry was reported “missing in action" over the North Sea. He lies at rest in the cemetery at Kviber, Sweden.
