Br Barrett (1841–1921) gained a reputation as a gentle and refined man, intensely interested in developing the ethos at Nudgee College. Arriving at Nudgee College in 1893, he is kindly remembered for his fatherly interest in Nudgee College students. In his Golden Jubilee year in 1911, the Old Boys presented him with 500 pounds which he generously donated to the building fund for the chapel.
