B.Ed., M.Ed.(Learning Management), Grad Cert Religious Education

Mr David Johnston finished his tertiary studies in 1992 and began his teaching career in Canberra at St Peter’s Catholic College (now MacKillop Catholic College). His roles there included Head of Sport and Acting Head of Department, HPE. 

After teaching in England for a year, Mr Johnston moved to Rockhampton and worked at the Rockhampton Grammar School for five years initially as an Assistant Head of Boarding House and Head of HPE and was then appointed the Director of Sport. During his time in Rockhampton he completed his Masters in Education specialising in Learning Management.

He then moved to Brisbane and worked for the Queensland Studies Authority for three years. He was the Standards and Assessment Officer for Health, Physical Education and Agricultural Science and during his time was promoted to the position of a Principal Assessment Officer, before moving to Redeemer Lutheran College in the south of Brisbane. Mr Johnston spent 5 years at Redeemer where he was the Dean of Learning and Teaching.

As an educator, David is committed to providing the students of Nudgee College with a balanced and holistic education that ensures each boy achieves his full potential and sets him on a path to reaching his full potential academically, socially and spiritually. David enjoys distance running, is married and has one son.
